‘Panorama’: Konstantin Grcic at the Vitra Design Museum

‘Panorama’, which has just opened at the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, Germany, is Konstantin Grcic’s biggest solo show to date and one where the acclaimed industrial designer looks firmly to the future.

While the fifteen years of their prolific careers are being celebrated across 1000 square meters in Parisian Centre Pompidou-Metz, the recently-opened ‘Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec – Album’ exhibition gives a rare, behind-the-scenes glimpse into creative process of France’s famous design duo.

The opening of a new gallery space at the internationally renowned Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, Germany – called, quite literally, the Vitra Design Museum Gallery – sees an exhibition of Memphis legend Ettore Sottsass’s lesser known work in enamel from the late 1950s. Curated by Fulvio and Napoleone Ferrari, the show also features related drawings. (more…)

Vitra Design Museum invited Corning Museum of Glass to provide GlassLab on the Vitra campus during this year’s Art Basel. International designers such as Max Lamb, Sigga Heimis, Atelier Oi, Wendell Castle, Tomas Libertiny and Jeff Zimmerman will present design performances together with the museum’s highly skilled glasblowers live on an open air stage each day.
