House F by Kenji Ido is a house designed for a couple in Osaka, Japan, made of wood, is three stories high and is located on a narrow urban site. The neighbourhood is mixed-use where small houses, small factories, and small office buildings coexist without much harmony.

A Valencia-based architectural practice Fran Silvestre Arquitectos have realised this beautiful, minimalist villa embedded in a rocky mountain wall located in the Spanish coastal town of Calp. Completed earlier this year, the tranquil, waterfront house boasts a number of airy, pristine white rooms as well as an infinity edge pool and a terrace offering spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea. A young Japanese architect Kazuya Saito and his namesake practice have recently completed this single-storey house located in Sendai, Japan. Developed for an elderly couple who “requested living in privacy, but a sunny and breezy house while considering connection with the nearby house,” the dark, opaque and windowless exterior of the structure is offset by a neutrally-coloured, light-filled interior. Geneva-based architectural practice Pierre-Alain Dupraz have recently realised this single family residence overlooking the Salève mountain. Stuttgart-based architectural practice (se)arch realized this streamlined, minimalist house overlooking Lake Constance. Located in the German city of Überlingen, House G12 has two storeys and boasts spectacular, panoramic views of the lake and the Swiss Alps thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows which are shielded from the outside by a delicate, semi-transparent façade. A Polish architectural practice Moomoo Architects have completed this single-storey minimalist house located in the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik. Uniformly white, the detached development features two fully-glazed walls and a terrace wall ‘which was pulled from the house and bended in a way that it looks like it came out from the landscape.’ (more…)

This multi-faceted, two-storey detached residence has been competed by an Israeli Sharon Neuman Architects practice. Developed on a long and narrow 800-square-meters plot, the 215-square-meters house has been designed with energy efficiency in mind and incorporates a number of environment-friendly solutions such as: efficient insulating materials, rainwater and dew collection and storage units, water recycling system, and a solar water heater.
