‘Fitas’, Portuguese for “stripe”, is a buffet, cabinet and table made from bent steel by Brazilian designer architects Fernando and Humberto Campana.



'Shift' sideboard by design duo Scholten & Baijings for Pastoe

The Dutch manufacturer Pastoe has launched this new ‘Shift’ sideboard developed by the design duo Scholten & Baijings at this year’s Design Post at imm cologne. The overlapping sliding doors of the cabinet create an interesting effect, due to the varied gradient of the colours of the semitransparent acrylate.



'Pro forma' collection by Rich Brilliant Willing for Volume Galery

Until April 3rd the New York based designer trio Rich Brilliant Willing are showcasing their newest creation, the ‘Pro forma’ collection, at the Volume Gallery in Chicago – an exhibition space focused on American design. The collection comprises a series of personal storage pieces inspired by international air-shipping containers. They are produced in a limited edition and available through the gallery.


'The Ensemble' by Helena Svensson, Karin Widmark and Josefin Hellström Olsson

The three individual Swedish designers Helena Svensson, Karin Widmark and Josefin Hellström Olsson presented ‘The Ensemble’ at the Greenhouse during this year’s Stokholm Furniture Fair. The collection was inspired by the sentimentality and percieved value of musical instruments, which becomes especially apparent in the materiality and processing of the pieces.


The Cologne based architect and designer Eric Degenhardt created this sideboard for the German manufacturer Böwer. We met him and had a short chat about this elegant piece. Enjoy!

New sideboard by Eric Degenhardt for Böwer

Eric Degenhardt created this sideboard for the German manufacturer Böwer, presented at this year’s imm cologne for the first time. The quiet large furniture owes its graphical and light appearance to a 6mm wooden mantle, a horizontal gap, the slightly inclined front and long tabular steel legs.

An interview in the Swiss daily newspaper Tagesanzeiger which was entitled “Chairs are the best wardorbes” drew my attention to Moritz Schmid and his designs. The Zürich based industrial designer described the work on his new furniture he designed for the Swiss manufacturer Pfister. ‘Aris’ is part of the recently launched, new collection which was developed under the curatorship of Alfredo Häberli.
