With a spirit of industrial adventure, the British designer likes to explore the facilities of the local factories and pushes its traditional techniques to new limits.

Glass vases by Michael Young for the Chinese manufacturer Tittot

The British born and Hong Kong based designer Michael Young realised these honeycomb glass vases for the Chinese manufacturer Tittot. The pieces will be on show at the Cat Street Gallery within an exhibition dedicated to Michael Young’s 20-year industrial design career from June 29th, 2011.

On the occasion of this year’s Frieze Art Fair London’s most important exhibition of contemporary design art ‘Super Design’ will take place for the fourth time. Spread over 1,500 sqm the exhibition at London’s Victoria House will feature specially commissioned, unique and limited edition pieces from international galleries such as The Apartment, D&A-Lab, Quadrige, Mitterrand-Cramer, Tom Dixon and Vessel Gallery.


'Avalon' by Michael Young

The Swedish manufacturer Swedese recently presented this upholstered armchair, designed by the British born and Hong Kong based Michael Young, at the Stockholm Furniture Fair.

‘Avalon’ has a 360 degree swiveling base with automatic return.
