Walls are increasingly included as a third design level in interior design. A space-creating illusion is playfully deployed and engendered through various materials. Both individual elements as well as complete wall coverings can be used for this. Stone Gate by Raffaello Galiotto for Lithos Design
Conceived by Italian designer Raffaello Galiotto and developed by natural stone specialists Lithos Design, ‘Stone Gate’ is an imposing, 3.80-metre-high, self-supporting marble structure inspired by ‘the ancient architectural figure of the arch consisting of elements laid dry, inherited from the Roman Empire.’ Weighting nearly 30 thousands kilograms, the colossal circle was unveiled earlier this year at the ‘100% Gravity’ exhibition in Verona. 'Quadro curve luce' by Raffaello Galiotto for Lithos Design
Lithos Design is specialised in wall panels and decorative elements made from marble and stone. Together with the industrial designer Raffaello Galiotto, who has already realised various objects and surfaces for Lithos Design, the North Italian company developed ‘Quadro curve luce’ a system of wall panels which is composed of two different tiles – a flat connecting part and a curved one which contains a hidden light source.
