Whiter than White, Materials Council’s inaugural exhibition

Materials Council is running drop-in ‘Council Meetings’ at Clerkenwell Design Week 2013. Attendees are invited to come down and get free materials advice on current projects. Situated in the new materials and surfaces pavilion, Covered at Charterhouse Square, Materials Council will be relocating their studio for the duration of the show and will also be displaying a selection of materials from their Whiter than White exhibition, Materials Council’s inaugural exhibition launched last September. The show takes place around the Clerkenwell area of London between 21-23 May, 2013. Entrance is free and fast-tracked with registration. Registration for Clerkenwell Design Week 2013 is open now.

Materials Council’s Ian Hunter and Brad Turner will give a talk at the upcoming ‘Neue Stoffwerke’ (New Materials) symposium

Newly launched creative materials consultancy Materials Council, co-founded by Architonic, will be speaking at a fascinating symposium at the Technische Universität Munich this month entitled ‘Neue Stoffwerke‘ (or New Materials). Taking place on Friday 19 October at the Vorhoelzer Forum of TU München and chaired by Professor Florian Musso of the architecture faculty, the event will address the creative potential and ecological effects of newly developed materials and manufacturing technologies, with a specific emphasis on the analysis of material properties and technical capabilities, and well as innovative applications. Yesterday saw the opening of the inaugural exhibition by Architonic’s new partner company, Materials Council, titled ‘Whiter than White‘. As described by Materials Council’s London-based founders Ian Hunter and Brad Turner, the show is: ‘an exploration of the pursuit of ‘whiteness’ in the built environment, showcasing a highly-curated selection of architectural materials and finishes.’ On view until Sunday (23 September) as part of the Super Brands London at the Old Truman Brewery, the visitors will get a chance to receive free advice or consultation on using materials in their projects. Make sure you don’t miss this inspiring and undoubtedly insightful show!


Materials Council launches at the London Design Festival 2012
