Architect Daniel Libeskind’s ‘Berlin Dreams’ is a piece of glass architecture based on nine invisible lines traced through Potsdamer Platz, after it was No Man’s Land between East and West Berlin, yet before it was rebuilt. The installation was presented as part of the Urban Stories exhibition held at Palazzo Litta during Milan Design Week 2014.

Marco Maturo and Alessio Roscini, the Italian design duo behind Milan-based Studio Klass have collaborated with the curved glass furniture specialists Fiam on the design of this simple, geometrical side table. The Belgian designer and master of convex surfaces Xavier Lust realised this desk for the Italian glass manufacturer FIAM Italia. ‘Graph’ – reminding a bit of a 1950s streamline-design – is made from 19 mm thick glass and composed of a top which is fixed to the elegantly curved base by polished stainless steel ties. The piece will be presented at this year’s Salone del Mobile at the FIAM Italia booth L11-M16 in Hall 5.
Fiam, the Italian specialist for glass furniture, presented this new shelving system by the Milano based designers Setsu & Shinobu Ito at this year’s Salone del Mobile in Milan. ‘Inori’ is composed of 12 mm tempered glass shelves and bent glass pillars, which can be assembled in modular fashion, as a display cabinet, storage unit or TV cabinet, in wall-mounted or free-standing versions, as well as a bookcase. The uprights are freely adjustable on each shelf through sliding aluminium rails and fixing device.
