'Volume.MGX' by Dror for .MGX by Materialise

The namesake interdisciplinary practice of Dror Benshetrit has created this highly-sculptural limited edition light for 3D printing specialists, the Belgian brand .MGX by Materialise. Created as a single piece, the cubic lamp is composed from an intricate, polyamide net of hounders of interlocking squares ‘which when lit, provide both a bright, warm glow in its center, and a cooler, darker feeling around its edges.’ Watch the collapsible design come to life in the video below. 'TRON' armchair by Dror Benshetrit for Cappellini

Those of you who’ve seen the science-fiction film ‘TRON’ from 1982, one of the first films ever to use extensive computer graphics, might be somewhat sceptical about Disney’s soon-to-be-released sequel, 28 years after the original ground-breaking classic. With similar reservation, we would like to present the ‘TRON’ armchair, part of the movie’s production design and developed in collaboration with Italian manufacturer Cappellini and the New York-based designer Dror Benshetrit.
