Located 35 kms from the northeastern Italian city of Treviso Bolzan Letti is about to open a 600 sqm showroom a few steps from its main HQ. Here its beds and furniture pieces can be viewed in a styled ‘lifestyle’ setting
BOLZAN LETTI’s new ‘Care Collection’ is right on trend when it comes to flexibility. With headboards and frames ‘dressable’ in seven different designs, it’s sweet dreams for the high-end Italian bed manufacturer. (by Giovanna Dunmall)
We met the Stuttgart based designers Jehs+Laub for a short interview about the new pieces they designed for the German manufacturer Cor and Interlübke. Enjoy!
The Swedish architects trio Claesson Koivisto Rune realised this modern version of the classical four poster bed for the Italian manufacturer Cinova. ‘Temple’ is based on a demountable structure constisting of honeycomb panels with veneer in ash polished natural wood, or dyed in colors wengè or white with open pore.
In addition to last year’s ‘Ruché’ sofa the French designer Inga Sempé realised together with Ligne Roset the adapted bed, available in two heights. It will be on show at this year’s imm cologne (Hall 11.3, O 020 / P 021) which open its gates tomorrow. See you there.
The almost perky simpleness is the convincing element of this new bed by Zanotta in times of material overdoses. The dismountable steel frame is available in the shades of black or white. The Springing is made from bent beech strips, with stiffness adjusters. Version 1707 has headboard cushions with goose down – 100% pure material, with polyurethane insert and removable fabric or leather cover.
Born in 1954 and graduated in architecture at the Politecnico of Milan in 1979, Rodolfo Dordoni is one member of the Milanese tradition that generated designers such as Castiglioni, Zanuso, Magistretti and de Lucchi.
At this year’s Milan fair the Italian manufacturer Molteni presented a number of new wooden furniture by Rodolfo Dordoni. The series ‘When’, occasional tables in solid wood with double round top, is available in various finishings: essence, glass and marble. Four versions which are different in height and top diameter, suitable for the bedroom as well as the living room.

Even though only available in dark or gray oak ‘Wish’ is a minimal, refined bed in wood which also refers to classic Scandinavian teak furniture.
'Darling' was presented at the Stockholm Furniture Fair
We liked the ‘Darling’ bed at first sight when we came across it for the first time at last year’s Stockholm Furniture Fair, where it gave a clear indication of its enormous potential. With its attractive design and the innovative simplicity of its construction it impressed not only us but also the jury of the ‘iF Product Design Awards’, who have now presented the two designers with one of their prestigious 50 ‘Gold Awards’. Consisting of two leg elements made of plywood and cross slats of various lengths as a base, the bed can be adapted to mattresses of various sizes with a few simple adjustments.
