‘Bowl Chair’ by Lina Bo Bardi by Arper
Italian design brand Arper has put a limited edition of Lina Bo Bardi’s ‘Bowl Chair’, designed in 1951 by the Italian-Brazilian architect, into serial production for the first time.
The Design Guild Mark Awards, now in its sixth year, “mark and reward the work of the finest designers working in Britain and the best of British designers working abroad” according to their UK-based patron, the Furniture Makers Company. Among 2013’s recipients is the Juno chair by James Irvine for Italian design brand Arper. Design Guild Marks reward excellence specifically in the design of furniture in volume production.

The latest collaboration between the Italian furniture brand Arper and Barcelona-based design studio Lievore Altherr Molina resulted in this elegant, four-legged chair called ‘Saya’. Developed in oak and finished in teak and natural stain available in variety of colours such as white, black, ochre and three shades of red, the chair will be officially launched in April at this year’s edition of Salone del Mobile fair in Milan.
