They call it ‘3 days of design’, but Copenhagen’s superbly curated, city-as-showroom event leaves its mark on you for a lot longer – as our latest Architonic Photo Tour testifies.
A bit like the Fuorisalone without the Salone, a raft of leading brands opened their showrooms in the Danish capital last week to a discerning international audience, who were treated to painstakingly crafted mise-en-scenes of polished products in dialogue with both older and contemporary spaces, and with the wider city beyond.
Copenhagen, as the ground zero of Denmark’s internationally respected design tradition, provides the ideal urban stage for those trendsetting brands who are increasingly leading the industry in terms of both sales and marketing to show off. And the harbour city’s status as an experimental testbed for contemporary architecture, too, makes for a truly design-infused and joined-up experience.
Here are our five Facebook photo galleries with images from the various venues.
