The shifting colors of nature through a year are the inspiration for Kristine Five Melvær’s glass ‘Seasons’ vases. The pattern of the mouth blown vases is made using a technique that gives each vase a unique motif.
“The first vase is inspired by cherry blossoms and bright green leaves against the clear spring sky.” says Five Melvær.
“The second vase dives into the summer sea with algae on the bottom and waves on top. The third vase shows golden autumn leaves gradually covering the green ground.”
“The fourth vase interprets winter snow gently falling to the ground.”
The vases can be used together or alone. By shifting the vases with the seasons, they can be used as a calendar to reflect the seasons outside.
Seasons is made in collaboration with Magnor Glassverk. The vases will be exhibited for the first time at Gave og Interiørmessen during the Norway Trade Fairs August 22nd to 25th, 2013.
