Kristine Five Melvær’s ‘Mikkel’ blankets combine inspiration from the Bauhaus movement and traditional Norwegian weaving.
To create the blankets, Norwegian designer Kristine Five Melvær combined her two disciplines of industrial design and graphic design.
The prototypes are made by Norwegian manufacturer Røros Tweed. Says the designer, to make Mikkel, “A carefully sorted blend of the finest Norwegian wool is carded, spun, twisted, dyed, woven and finished at their factories in Norway.”
The blankets are being exhibited at the Norwegian Presence exhibition at Ventura Lambrate, via Privata Oslavia 3, during the 2015 Salone del Mobile.
