Architonic has produced a film made by Director/Camera/Editor Daniel Nelson featuring London-based industrial design duo PearsonLloyd discussing their particular design approach, with visual references to their exhibition at September 2013’s London Design Festival.
Their exhibition, 1 to 1: Inside Design with PearsonLloyd (presented by Great Western Studios during the 2013 London Design Festival) explored their recent work, design process and the ongoing themes that drive their thinking. Demonstrating how objects affect space and the way people inhabit it, the installation was made up of 20 open-ended plywood boxes each measuring three metres. The plywood boxes are laid out and stacked one upon another making and remaking the way a space is used, creating formal or informal spaces, enclosed or open spaces, sitting spaces, and abstract space.
Founded in 1997, PearsonLloyd comprises of Tom Lloyd and Luke Pearson who have worked for 15 years with well-known international brands including Knoll, Steelcase, Alias, Tacchini and UK brand Modus. Furniture design lies at the heart of the studio’s practice.
