Flare Salon is a wedding specialty store located on Motomachi Shopping Street in Yokohama, Japan, that references in its interior design the well known five-block long stretch of boutiques and shops.
Spread out on two floors, the first for wedding plans, the second for costume rental, the store is a one stop shop for all things wedding. Says Sone Yasuhiro Design, “To express the charm of Yokohama, tradition/culture/dignity is anticipated. ‘Bridal Arcade’ is the set design concept. Space was long and narrow, so utilized this characteristic, we thought of this place as shopping street.”
“We designed for the customer swelled the imagination and expectation of wedding with the sense of window shopping. Signs like road sign and signboard, inside lighting type ceiling make us feel as sunlight pouring down from the glass roof, glorifying the image of shopping street.”
“The back of the shop, surrounding the symbolic dress showcase, photo album and reception counter has been arranged. Relationships of inside and outside at the shop in shopping street has been built up.”
“Harmony with tradition and modern, shopping street. Design, born to express ‘The charm of Yokohama’ with the view to give feeling as it has been there from long before.”
