The French furniture manufacturer Ligne Roset has reissued this bold seating collection originally created by the late, much-acclaimed designer Pierre Paulin for the presidential Elysée Palace. Comprising an armchair, a footstool and a small settee model, ‘Elysée’ series has been reconstructed from Paulin’s plans using new materials such as multi-density polyurethane foam for increased comfort and durability. The range, which initially was developed in muted oatmeal shades, has now been released in vividly coloured wools and each of the models can also be upholstered in leather.
More about the range:
‘The Elysée collection of settee, armchair and footstool was reconstructed by Ligne Roset using plans in the archives of Pierre Paulin. If the aesthetics and the volumes of the original have been scrupulously respected, the comfort of the seats has been significantly improved through the use of the new materials now available and the highly specialised expertise of Ligne Roset in the field of multi-density foams and their assembly. The compactness, graphic purity and visual lightness of the Elysée seating enables them to fit perfectly into small spaces such as city apartments.’
