Design Miami/ Basel returns next week (14-18 June) to Switzerland for its 6th edition. During the fair, which each year coincides with ‘the Olympics of the art world’, Art Basel, more than 40 galleries from 10 different countries will showcase ‘never-before-seen historical and contemporary work and large-scale architectural installations’ as well as solo exhibitions from some of the most prominent designers including Pierre Charpin, Ron Gilad, Piet Hein Eek, Max Lamb, Joseph-André Motte and Jean Prouvé.
The participating galleries will include, amongst many: Carpenters Workshop Gallery, Dansk Møbelkunst Gallery, David Gill Galleries, Demisch Danant, Galerie Downtown–François Laffanour, Galerie kreo, Galerie Patrick Seguin, Galerie Perrin, Galerie Vivid, Galleria Rossana Orlandi, Gallery Karena Schuessler, Gallery Seomi, Hostler Burrows, Jacksons, Johnson Trading Gallery, Jousse Entreprise, Mitterrand+Cramer/Design, Ornamentum, Perimeter Art & Design, Priveekollektie Contemporary, Art | Design, R 20th Century, and Todd Merrill Twentieth Century and for the first time Galerie Doria, Galerie Urlich Fiedler and Modernity.
Additionally, Design On/Site will see a launch of new works by creatives such as Beatrice Brovia, Nicholas Cheng, Nacho Carbonell, Astrid Krogh and Nicolas Le Moigne. Satellite shows and Design Talks will also feature during this year’s edition of Design Miami/ Basel while The Vitra Design Museum will exhibit ‘selected work from its collection in honour of the concurrent exhibition “Zoom: Italian Design and the Photography of Aldo and Marirosa Ballo.”‘
