The US designer Jonah Takagi recently unveiled his new creations within his first solo exhibition at Civilian Art Projects in Washington DC. ‘Subdivision’, a LED table lamp, inspired by the ubiquitous public lighting, is composed of a cast concrete base and a blackened steel armature.
The ‘Market Research End Table’ is a simple end table, a study in materials, a collage of textures and finishes. The top is polished Venatino marble, while the base is made of FSC Certified White Ash and enameled water-jet cut aluminum.
The objects will be on display until January 8th 2011 at Civilian Art Projects, 1019 7th Street NW, Washington, DC 20001.
