The Swedish practice Marge Arkitekter – by the way an entirely female-led studio founded in 2002 by Pye Aurell Ehrström, Katarina Grundsell, Louise Masreliez and Susanne Ramel – recently unveiled this single family home in a suburb of Stockholm.
“The site is on a beautiful hill with unspoiled nature and gleams of the sea in an old fashionable suburb of Stockholm.
The cross plan organizes the program and creates outdoor spaces that vary in character. A welcoming entrance place, a sheltered place for the morning coffee, a garden with sun all day and a back yard towards the north for storage of garden tools and fire wood. The facade changes as you move around this big villa and only durable materials are used such as brick, concrete and copper that will grow old with patina.”
