Those of you who’ve seen the science-fiction film ‘TRON’ from 1982, one of the first films ever to use extensive computer graphics, might be somewhat sceptical about Disney’s soon-to-be-released sequel, 28 years after the original ground-breaking classic. With similar reservation, we would like to present the ‘TRON’ armchair, part of the movie’s production design and developed in collaboration with Italian manufacturer Cappellini and the New York-based designer Dror Benshetrit. The armchair is constructed of a composite material, consisting of impregnated fiberglass with polyester resin processed with manual layering.

During this year’s Design Miami, which runs from 2 to 10 December, the special production series will be on display in the Poltrona Frau/Cappellini Miami showroom.
