Timeless: the captivating “Sondo” design is made of 3 mm thick glazed steel

In 1896, Adolf Lamprecht founded an enamelling and die-cutting works in Penig, Saxony, thus laying the foundations for the company that today trades under the acronym “Alape”. Since relocating in 1954, Alape has been producing individual washplace solutions for private and semi-public spaces in Goslar, Lower Saxony. Its success is founded on its glazed steel washbasins and washstands, as well as on a unique symbiosis of craftsmanship and technology within the manufacturing process. (by Atrium)

Kassel-born Bremen-based product designer Jannis Ellenberger has created this minimalist, crisp-white washstand. Featuring a sink, two-level counter top, a towel rack, and two different sized holders, the basin itself is made of mineral composite while the entire design is supported by a simple, lacquered ash frame. 'Nabhi' modular marble wash-stands by Kreoo

Kreoo is the new label of the Italian manufacturer Decormarmi, a historic Italian company specialised in marble and stone processing. With Nabhi, designed by Enzo Berti, Kreoo launched a new series of modular wash-stands, composed of a tray and a basin. The elements come in various shapes and marbles and are adaptable to different sub-structures. Kreoo will be present at this year’s Abitare Il Tempo from 16 -19 September in Verona, Italy. (more…)
