'Crown' easy chair by Massproductions

The Swedish label Massproductions founded by the designers Magnus Elebäck and Chris Martin presented some new pieces at this year’s Stockholm Furniture Fair, amongst them these beautiful upholstered armchairs. ‘Crown’ seems to be simply composed of four upholstered panels, in fact the artful compositions, with the backrest balancing on the armrests, is based on an inner structure made of tabular steel.

'Slow Sofa' by Frederik Roijé

During this year’s imm cologne the Dutch designer Frederik Roijé presented his new sofa at the ‘Passages’ – the fair’s satallite events in the city of Cologne. ‘Slow Sofa’ is a family of nine elements that can be applied in many compositions at various locations. With its wooden storage space it unites side table and upholstery in one piece.

'Moody Nest' by Hanna Emelie Ernsting, photo by Evi Künstle

“Form follows moods” – under this motto the German designer and graduate of Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe and École Nationale Supérieure des Art Décoratifs in Paris realised a series of three furniture that focus on the user’s emotional and physical condition – amongst them my favourite piece ‘Moody Nest’.

'Shrimp' by Jehs+Laub for Cor

‘Shrimp’ is the new armchair the Stuttgart based designers Jehs+Laub created for the German manufacturer Cor. The comparatively small appearing upholstery is characterised by its shell made from 2D-plywood which could be bent into the fitting shape, due to the regular gaps.

'DS-480' by Alfredo Häberli for de Sede

'Ruché' by Inga Sempé for Ligne Roset

In addition to last year’s ‘Ruché’ sofa the French designer Inga Sempé realised together with Ligne Roset the adapted bed, available in two heights. It will be on show at this year’s imm cologne (Hall 11.3, O 020 / P 021) which open its gates tomorrow. See you there.

'Citi' armchair by Ralf Lindberg fpr Gärsnäs

The Swedish manufacturer Gärsnäs launched this new series of waiting area furniture, created by Ralf Lindberg – a designer who has been working for Gärsnäs since the 1980s. The light and simple armchairs and sofas are available in fabric or leather covering.
