‘Boya’ lamp by Outofstock for Environment
The international design collective Outofstock has just shared with us their latest project – this small, reclaimed-wood table lamp called ‘Boya.’ Produced by the US manufacturer Environment, the design was inspired by the form of marine buoys (hence the name) and it was launched earlier this year during Milan’s Salone del Mobile fair. 'Duii' lamp by Diesel with Foscarini
Continuing their ongoing collaboration initiated back in 2009, the famous clothing brand Diesel and the Italian lighting specialists Foscarini have realised a new collection of lamps. Comprising five new pendant, table and floor lamp designs, the series of novelties includes this small, jolly model ‘Duii mini’. Inspired by both: its namesake Disney character and a form of ‘the headlight of a classic car’, ‘Duii mini’ is available in two colours; bright yellow or dark grey and the design was presented earlier last month at the Temporary Museum For New Design in Superstudio Piu. 'Dome' table lamp by Todd Bracher for Mater
It might have been designed nearly three years ago, yet we still very much admire the purity of form and boldness of this table lamp created by a New York-based designer Todd Bracher. Composed of partly recycled aluminium shade and a steel base, ‘Dome’ was inspired by ‘the phases of the moon and its contrast between light and shadow.’ In 2009, the design was named the ‘Best Table Lamp’ in Wallpaper* Design Awards and the lamp is manufactured by a Copenhagen-based brand Mater, in one of Denmark’s few remaining workshops specialising in the spin forming technique. Delicate nude-coloured mesh fabric veils welded steel cord structure of these sculptural table lamps created by a young Norwegian designer Kristine Five Melvær. The detail of the 'Magneto' lamp by Giulio Iacchetti for Foscarini
Following his popular ‘Tropico’ pendant lamp on which he collaborated with the Italian lighting specialists Foscarini in 2008, the Milan-based industrial designer Giulio Iacchetti has recently created this new table and floor lights called ‘Magneto’. Made of painted steel and available at the end of March 2012 in either red or grey colour version, the minimalist, pared-down lamp emits an intensive and precise beam of LED light, which can be adjusted and repositioned thanks to ’the mysterious force of a magnet that joins the support rod with a circular base’ of the design. 'Madame' floor lamp by Oriol Llahona for Alma Light
Barcelona-based industrial designer Oriol Llahona has recently collaborated on this collection of lamps with the Spanish lighting manufacturer Alma Light. Made of epoxy painted metal, ‘Madame’ consists of three different models: pendant, floor and table lamps, all of which are available in either black-gold or white-silver colour combinations. Additionally, and rather curiously, all of the designs are also available in ‘full format or only half.’ (more…)

'Denq' table lamp by Toshiyuki Kita for Oluce
Last year’s Compasso d’Oro laureate and creator of the 1980′s eyebrow-raising ‘Wink’ chaise longue, the much-acclaimed Japanese designer Toshiyuki Kita has collaborated with the Italian lighting brand Oluce on design of this minimalist table lamp. Resembling an oversized lightbulb, ‘Denq’ is made of opalescent, opaque blown glass and a lacquered metal base with chromium-plated laser cut upper base disc. The lamp is the first collaborative project of the Japanese designer and Oluce and it was presented during last year’s Euroluce fair in Milan. (more…)

Vase & Leuchte lamp by Miriam Aust for Dua
Although a lamp consisting of a lightbulb submerged in water might sound like a highly-hazardous concept to say the least, the young German designer Miriam Aust has found her solution to this seemingly-impossible idea which resulted in creation of this striking series of lights-cum-vases. Called just that, the award-winning ‘Vase & Leuchte’ consists of three, differently-sized clear glass lamps composed from an archetypal pendant lampshade surrounded by a cylinder, which can be filled with water and decorated with water plants or cut flowers.
