'Within' seat / side table by Studio Vision; photo by Helena Winberg & Anna Kjernsvik
At first glance clinically plain and unassuming, when opened, this two-piece minimalist, geometric seat-cum- side table reveals an angular, sculpture-like structure which contrasts with the design’s otherwise unadorned exterior. Created by a young Swedish designer and founder of Studio Vision, Mattias Stenberg, the aptly-named ‘Within’ was presented earlier last week in Stockholm Furniture Fair’s hall for independent designers and design schools, Greenhouse. 'Minimato' table by Matthias Ferwagner for Moormann
Young German designer Matthias Ferwagner has created this wood-and-metal ‘Minimato’ table for the Bavaria-based manufacturer Nils Holger Moormann. Presented at this year’s Salone del Mobile, ‘Minimato’ combines the simplicity of form while the untreated-ash structure of the base and the circular aluminium tabletop give the design a contemporary look. Or, as the designer himself puts it: ‘To express it minimalistly: 5 bars, 1 table top, Assemble, Minimato’.
