'Zenit' shelf system by Rimadesio

'Zenit' shelf system by Rimadesio

Together with Giuseppe Bavuso the Italian manufacturer Rimadesio developed this complex and variable shelf system. ‘Zenit’ is created for every area of the home, characterised by its light and luminous design principles. An exceptionally versatile system that can be arranged as you wish, freeing you from the constraints of “box-like” units and from every functional limitation: each element can be freely positioned in the desired number and at the desired height. In fact, the true fulcrum of the Zenit system is the exclusive module anchoring system thanks to the upright wall-mount rod in aluminium without holes or fixed anchor.

‘Zenit’ offers a wide range of closet accessories: linear or corner shelves, which can also be lighted, drawer units that can be suspended or on wheels, pullover storage compartments, clothing rods, wardrobe lift, trouser rack, tie holder and belt holder in melamine, white-washed, wengé and white oak.

'Crate' by Martin Born

The Eindhoven-based designer Martin Born designed this modular shelf system which can be composed in full freedom of alignment and orientation.

This three-dimensional predicate uncloses applications inaccessible to the typological wall-form: Choreographed “movements” and sophisticated access paths are as easily realised as more “ordinary” setups – without loss of use value. Together with a nuanced palette of colours, the system gives architects an immense freedom in elaborating and coordinating the storage piece as an active design element.

'LSS Latten' by ABR

The Spanish manufacturer recently presented a new, rather sustainable shelving system designed by the German designers Max and Hannes Gumpp and the Spanish designer Toni Pallejà. The modular system is composed of 6 ABR Latten chairs, which were already designed by the brothers, and 4 vertical colour (colour combination to be decide by the client), white or black lacquered pine sticks and 2 horizontal white lacquered pine sticks. All this assembly by transparent plastics zip tips

– I love it!

'Pure' by Pastoe

The new cabinet system ‘Pure’ by the Dutch manufacturer Pastoe lives up to its name. This is the result of the cabinet’s clean lines and exquisite finish –the cabinets come with finishing tops that are only 16 mm thick. There is a choice of standing cabinet or hanging cabinet, with a variety of dimensions. ‘Pure’ comes with doors, flaps or drawers; with or without one of the two types of handle.

'Spacecross' by Jan Ulmer

'Spacecross' by Jan Ulmer

Jan Ulmer designed this shelf system for the German company Schneiderschram. ‘Spacecross’ is assembled quickly. Simply interconnect the four equally sized shelves to create a SPACECROSS room module and combine numerous modules by just pushing them together. This allows you to design shelves of various shapes and sizes and, depending on the module layout, individual shelf configurations.

The shelf configurations can be individually modified and extended in each and every direction. And ‘Spacecross’ has the ability to adapt to bespoke room designs. It is made of MDF and available fully powder coated in white or anthracite or melamine resin coated in white.

'Flat.C' by Antonio Citterio for B&B Italia

'Flat.C' by Antonio Citterio for B&B Italia

The Italian manufacturer B&B Italia presented a new modular shelf system at this year´s Salone del Mobile – ‘Flat.C’ by Antonio Citterio.

The first remarkable feature is the discreet elegance of the system, thanks to which the books play the actual leading role. Extremely reduced thickness; horizontal and vertical patterns resulting from the matching of shelves and partitions; a single and quite small depth; the elimination of any exposed joints , bring about a furnishing project, which does not want to be the main focus of the room, serving the functions it was designed for with the utmost elegance, instead.

The issue of containing, or partially concealing, video appliances was tackled through a series of container modules, which are “laid out” harmonically together with the shelves.

'Bud Buddy' by Opinion Ciatti

Opinion Ciatti presented at this year´s Salone del Mobile ‘Bud Buddy’, a shelf system which stands out for its imperfection – a detail which is typical for the Italian manufacturer. A rectangular parallelepiped and a cube that come together with no respect for alignment. The two different containers (35x35xH36 and 35x35xH71 cm) are freely stackable and combinable.
