Described by its designer as “a modern tool for sitting,” this extremely-reduced, three-legged chair was created by London-based Faye Toogood. Owing its minimalist form to Toogood’s clever juxtaposition of two mundane objects: a milking stool and a spade, the solid-ash chair is now available as part of ‘BATCH’ collection which also includes a stool, coffee table, side table and a dining table designs. ‘Rocking Stool’ by Svenja Diekmann

Unveiled earlier in April as part of a joint exhibition ’2×10′ at Milan’s Ventura Lambrate, this upholstered rocking stool was created by a young German designer Svenja Diekmann. Composed of a simple, metal wire frame and a recycled cotton knitted seat, ‘Rocking Stool’ is available in two sizes and variety of colours. (more…)

'Wave' rocking chair by Michal Riabic for TON

Inspired by the iconic rocking chair by the bentwood-process inventor Michael Thonet, the young Slovak designer Michal Riabic has created this ‘Wave’ rocking armchair for the Czech manufacturer TON. The simple, curvilinear ‘Wave’ encompasses a leather upholstery and the design has won ‘the best redesign of a standard rocking chair’ competition held by TON on the occasion of the manufacturer’s 150-years anniversary of the traditional bentwood furniture production. ‘Monarchy’ is the newest product of the Belgian manufacturer Feld, designed by the Greek designer Yiannis Ghikas. It is a rocking chair, which is designed not to be overturned but at the same time allows the user to escape the dullness of the ultimate stability.
