In a protected 19th century interior Zanon Beilein Communication established its Vienna headquarters. 4 ensuite former parade rooms, discreet back rooms and service areas are the backdrop for tailor-fit interior for two charismatic entrepeneurs and their team.

Never the ones to follow the traditional canons of industrial design (soap table, anyone?) the young Austrian practice Pudelskern (whose name refers to a quote from Goethe‘s Faust: ‘Das also war des Pudels Kern!’ – a metaphor meaning ‘to find the core of a thing – the gist of the matter.’ ) have devised this ingenious ceramic coatrack called ‘Milky Star’. Following hemp, kenaf and polycaprolactone wax soap has become yet another unusual material employed in the furniture design showcased at this year’s Salone Internazionale del Mobile. Created by the Austrian design practice Pudelskern, ‘Tabula Rasa’ is a table made of translucent natural soap and it was presented at the ‘Design Vision Austria’ exhibition in Zona Tortona.
