'Granny' pendant lamp by Pudelskern Design for Casamania, 2010
There’s somewhat of a contradiction at the heart of Casamania’s new pendant lamp ‘Granny’, designed by Pudelskern Design and shown at the recent Maison & Objet design fair in Paris: a light (and, ergo, heat) source that sports a natural-wool covering. The aesthetic is industrial-design-meets-toothy-craft. While the wool comes from Tyrolian sheep, the lamp itself is knitted by hand in the Netherlands. You’ll be pleased to hear the material is fire-retardant…

'strip' is made of an aluminium profile 25x25mm
With ‘strip’ by Jo Hecht the firm of f-sign is once more presenting a lamp series which fits perfectly into the German manufacturer’s minimalist collections. Here too the body of the lamp consists of anodised, chrome-plated or brushed aluminium. The halogen lighting source is integrated into the slim profile (25 x 25 mm) and provides dazzle-free light. The lamp is suspended from two thin, stainless-steel wires. Strip is available as a wall-mounted, standing or table lamp and as a pendant lamp in versions ranging from 120 to 520 cm.
