The Italian manufacturer around Creative Director Paola Navone presented a new range of furniture, fitting for outdoor and indoor use. Part of the ‘INOUT’ family is this light and flexible lounge chair which is composed of an iron frame with electro welded wire mesh seat.
This collection also includes a series of chairs in various versions – classic chair, chair with armrests, armchair, stool – with an aluminum structure painted in white and white PVC seat and back, with a unique webbed pattern creating an unusual and funny graphic layout.
At this year’s Milan Fair the Italian manufacturer Magis will present some extraordinary pieces: ‘Sparkling Chair’ by Marcel Wanders lives up to its name – it is produced in blow moulded PET and indeed the legs slightly remind of water bottles.
‘Spun’ by Thomas Heatherwick is not as genuine concerning its material. At a first glance the chair looks like a ceramic bowl, in fact it is made from rotational moulded polyethylene. Nevertheless it is a beautiful spatial element, especially when you imagine it in a large number.
Fermob is specialised in metal outdoor furniture. At this year’s imm cologne the French manufacturer presented this new armchair designed by Fréderic Sofia. The seating is made from a polymer mesh which is woven around an smartly curved metal frame.
'Straw' chair by osko+deichmann
The Berlin based designers osko+deichmann originally designed their cantilever straw chair in occasion of last year’s 90th Bauhaus anniversary. It was an homage to the Marcel Breuer classic.
The Swedish manufacturer Blå Station who produces also osko+deichmann’s sofa ‘Pebble’ was fascinated by the rather rough processing the designers used – instead of bending the metal tube smoothly, they edged it.

'Straw' chair for Blå Station
In collaboration with Blå Station osko+deichmann created a stackable chair, which is adapted for outdoor use as well. It was presented at this year’s Stockholm Furniture Fair for the first time.

'Framura' by De Padova
Together with the Turkish designer Sezgin Aksu the Italian Silia Suardi designed this serie of outdoor furniture for De Padova. It is composed of a chair, a hassock, a rocking chair, a nest and a sun cot – which admittedly receives a certain charm by its mechanical and puristic camp bed – look.

'Framura' designed by Sezgin Aksu and Silvia Suardi
The structure is in painted aluminium, treated for outdoor use, and brushed stainless steel. All cushions are filled with polyester fiber, with semi-rigid insert in the lower part where they make contact with the structure. They are covered in cotton fabric which is treated for outdoor use. The structure is available in white or silver colors.
