This year’s edition of Milan’s Salone del Mobile, as seen by Architonic
This year’s edition of Milan’s Salone del Mobile is one of the busiest we’ve seen in the last few years, posing an ever greater challenge for those who want to see it all. With its innumerable coinciding events, exhibitions, shows, launches and lunches, getting to see everything Milan has to offer during the manic week that is Design Week requires a team, like our team, of intrepid design seekers to capture the essence (it’s near impossible to catch it all). Here are our first two Facebook photo galleries with impressions from the 345,000 m2 of The Fiera fairground. More to follow!

‘Cagnotte’ money box by Stephan Wespi, photo: Philipp Haenger
A money box modelled on an acorn and a mobile consisting of scales in delicate balance reflect the thoughts of Swiss design collective Postfossil on nature, the economy and “balance in our lives”. ‘Cagnotte’, a money box by Stephan Wespi, has a slit on the underside to insert coins and a wooden shell to close the opening and give the acorn a stable stand.
‘Sparks’ lighting system by Daniel Becker for Quasar
Crystals and molecular structures with geometric irregularities served as a source of inspiration for Daniel Becker’s ‘Sparks’, a modular lighting system consisting of three different modules that can be arranged in various configurations to form three-dimensional structures.
