The detail of the 'Magneto' lamp by Giulio Iacchetti for Foscarini
Following his popular ‘Tropico’ pendant lamp on which he collaborated with the Italian lighting specialists Foscarini in 2008, the Milan-based industrial designer Giulio Iacchetti has recently created this new table and floor lights called ‘Magneto’. Made of painted steel and available at the end of March 2012 in either red or grey colour version, the minimalist, pared-down lamp emits an intensive and precise beam of LED light, which can be adjusted and repositioned thanks to ‘the mysterious force of a magnet that joins the support rod with a circular base’ of the design. The detail of the 'Nomad' interactive chandelier by Beau McClellan
Reminiscent of a luminous tropical fish suspended mid-air, this highly-sculptural and undoubtedly striking interactive LED light installation has been developed by the British lighting brand, Beau McClellan. Composed of no less than 200 individually controlled, glossy mirror-coated glass components, the dramatic 5-meters-long ‘Nomad’ chandelier was originally presented at the last year’s edition Designjunction – London Design Festival and this months, it will be on show during the London Art Fair (18-22 January). 'One Crystal Chandelier' by Thomas Feichtner for Lobmeyr
The multi-award-winning Austrian designer Thomas Feichtner has recently unveiled his latest pendant lamp design created for the renowned Viennese crystal specialists, Lobmeyr. A contemporary reinterpretation of Lobmeyr’s traditionally opulent chandeliers, Feichtner’s strikingly simple, reduced ‘One Crystal Chandelier‘ consists of a black cable enclosed within a plain bent metal tube, and a single hand-cut crystal which is suspended above the end of the brass structure and lit from below by an LED. 'Bella Chandelier' by 3XN
Next month the opening of the excentric Bella Sky Hotel, part of the extension of Copenhagen’s famous congress center, the Bella Center, is due. In this context 3XN Architects recently completed the ‘Bella Chandelier’, a light sculpture consisting of more than 700 LEDs, developed in collaboration between GXN designers and a multidsciplinary team of engineers and tensegrity experts.

Benjamin Hubert's new 'Paddle' task light for Italian manufacturer Fabbian
There’s no excuse to be up that proverbial creek without one. Strongly referencing not only the form of a canoe blade but also its 360-degree movement through water, young British designer Benjamin Hubert’s new ‘Paddle’ LED task lamp for Italian manufacturer Fabbian will be launched at Euroluce during next month’s Milan Salone del Mobile 2011.
