Copenhagen-based design studio OeO have realised this Bauhaus-referencing seating collection for the Shanghai-based furniture brand Stellar Collections. Developed in natural oak, leather and fabric, the ‘SW’ collection comprises two upholstered, softly-hued designs; a sofa and a daybed. (more…)

‘Brogue’ table by Bethan Gray for G&T (UK)

Featuring a distinctive brogue detailing with a serrated edge, this elegant three-legged table was designed by a Welsh-born Bethan Gray. The piece is composed of a solid wood base, which is available in either oak or walnut, and a circular, top-grain leather tabletop in tan or white. Produced by a recently-launched G&T brand – a collaborative project between Gray and furniture developer Thomas Turner – ‘Brogue’ comes in variety of sizes and heights. (more…)

On the occasion of this year’s edition of Vienna Design Week which took place earlier in autumn (28.09 – 07.10.2012), Eindhoven-based design duo Daphna Laurens have been commissioned by the Austrian upholstered furniture specialist Wittmann Company to ‘exchange design ideas and produce a tangible outcome, be it a product or installation.’ Following this brief, the studio have realised this striking and decidedly tangible, two-piece seating collection which was presented at the Passionwege exhibition. ‘Adnet Rectangulaire’ mirror by Jacques Adnet

Following the last year’s release of the beautiful ‘Adnet Circulaire’, the Danish manufacturer Gubi has just launched the second mirror by the late French Modernist designer Jacques Adnet which will be available to purchase at the end of November. Originally conceived in collaboration with the French luxury fashion house Hermès in 1950s, the ‘Adnet Rectangulaire’ model also features a full-grain leather rim while the ‘Circulaire’s’ equestrian buckles have been replaced by square, oxidised brass studs, a frequent feature in Hermès’ accessory collections. Both of the models come in various sizes and with either tan or black leather detailing. (more…)

‘Pelleossa’ chair by Francesco Faccin for Miniforms (IT)

Milanese industrial designer Francesco Faccin has recently realised this light, leather-and-wood chair for the Italian furniture brand Miniforms. Called ‘Pelleossa’ – Italian for ‘skin and bones’, the chair has been designed to resemble polished bones: ‘I really like bones because they are the result of a natural reduction process … and then they are a metaphor for the essential of a structure, are fairly minimal’ comments the designer. ‘minuscule’ chair by Cecilie Manz for Republic of Fritz Hansen

The award-winning Danish furniture designer Cecilie Manz has developed this understated, upholstered chair for Republic of Fritz Hansen. Described by Manz as a ‘formal chair for informal meetings’, ‘minuscule’ features a hand-stitched, leather-trimmed shell which is supported by a simple and lightweight plastic frame. ‘Atelier Chair’ by EOOS for Walter Knoll

Gernot Bohmann, Harald Gründl and Martin Bergmann, aka the Viennese design practice EOOS have recently realised this pared-down, steel-and-leather armchair for the German upholstered furniture specialists, Walter Knoll. Called ‘Atelier Chair’, the elegant design features an adjustable headrest while the exposed tubular steel frame recalls the aesthetics of modernist designs associated with the Bauhaus. The chair was unveiled earlier in April during Milan’s Salone del Mobile. (more…)

Stockholm-based Eva Schildt has designed this elegant, leather-trimmed side table for the Swedish manufacturer Klong. Called ‘Rink’, the oval table combines in its structure four different materials: steel, ash veneer, leather and brass. The table is available in three different sizes and two colourways: in either white or black with red-brown leather rim. (more…)
