‘So-So’ chair by Jean Nouvel for Emeco
The Parisian Pritzker-prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel has collaborated with the American chair specialists Emeco on this minimalist seating collection called ‘So-S0.’ The series, which includes chair and barstool designs, is made of recycled aluminium and it will be officially launched later this month in Belgium during Kortrjik Interieur (20-28 October). Shedding some light on the rather ambiguous name of his collection, Jean Nouvel explains: “This chair is special because it intimately embraces the body. But compared to my girlfriend, it is just So-So.” (more…)
'Simplissimo' collection by Jean Nouvel for Ligne Roset
The Parisian Pritzker-prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel has designed this ‘fitness-inspired’ series of smart, minimalist furniture for the renowned French manufacturer Ligne Roset. Aptly called ‘Simplissimo’, the pared-down collection consists of banquette, chaise longue, fireside chair, footstool and bench, all of which are made of soft, black upholstery, which ‘hugs the curves of the metal structure and deliberately allows gathers in the four corners, which contribute to the overall aesthetic of the model.’ (more…)
'Vienna' by Jean Nouvel for Wittmann
The Austrian manufacturer Wittmann is especially known for its high-quality upholstery furniture. In their Viennese showroom Wittmann presents from March 25, 2011 the result of a very special encounter: The new, highly sober seating furniture collection ‘Vienna’ designed by non other than Jean Nouvel. The cooperation started when Wittmann was commissioned to produce the seating furniture for Vienna’s new Sofitel.
