Shoes, Books and a Bike by Thomas Walde for Postfossil
Thomas Walde, the Swiss industrial designer and co-founder of the Postfossil design collective has recently created this multifunctional bike stand-cum-shelving unit for the aforementioned Zurich-based brand. ‘Shoes, Books and a Bike’, which can also double as a room divider in an open-plan living space or a studio, is made of three simple materials such as pine frame, coconut fibre and steel screws. 'Dice' storage system by Stefan Diez for Schönbuch
Earlier this year, the German designer Stefan Diez has created this modular, mix-and-match hallway storage programme for the entrance area furniture manufacturer Schönbuch. Composed from a number of simple, rectangular elements such as cabinet, wardrobe, sideboard, lift-up chest and a mirror, the wall-mounted fabric-covered ‘Dice’ system is available in three colourways – natural grey, warm grey with a red tinge and blue-grey. 'Knob' by Patrik Hansson Karl Andersson
One particular hobbyhorse of the Swedish manufacturer Karl Andersson are simple and space-saving hallway accessories. At this year’s Stockholm Furnture Fair they presented two new lines designed by Patrik Hansson and Elin Lundmark. ‘Knob’ is nothing more than a turned coat hook in solid wood which works both on its own and grouped together, either in vertical or horizontal rows, or in combination with additional accessories, such as a mirror or a coat rack.
