
‘Aura’ sofa by Mikko Laakkonen for Inno
Helsinki-based designer Mikko Laakkonen has realised this boldly-coloured two-seater sofa for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Inno. Due to be presented next month at the upcoming edition of Habitare design fair (12 – 16 September), the upholstered ‘Aura’ features a simple, exposed steel frame and a raised back for increased privacy. The promising Finnish designer and Lahti University of Applied Sciences student Jaakko Hyvärinen has presented this adjustable desk lamp at a Lahti Institute of Design exhibition during Helsinki’s Habitare 2011. Called ‘StixStix’, the birch design is characterised by a simple, yet unusual, structure and an exposed, brightly-coloured textile cord. (more…)
