“The Landmark Roof light, is inspired by signs found along roads which usually indicate milage and underground gas conduct trails. The Landmark Cone light takes its shape from the well known windsock, a simple textile tube on a pole, used to indicate wind direction. In low winds the wind sock droops and in high wind it floats horizontally, hence the articulated top of the light.”

100%Design London has never been a trade fair in the classical sense. Rather than being a business marketplace for dealers, the concise exhibition of interiors has positioned itself as a rich source of inspiration for architects and interior designers. Besides the harsh situation on the market, this is another possible reason for the absence of some well-known British manufacturers, for which powerful brand presentation is more important. Despite all this, 100%Design stuck to its holistic approach and once again presented a convincing preselection of premium manufacturers.

Established & Sons who had also decided to not attend at Earls Court, presented themselves at their new premises instead. Their showroom and studio look absolutely unimpressive from the outside, but turn out to be really imposing once you have entered the building.

The Britsh designer Alexander Taylor designed this versatile occasional, dining chair for Established & Sons. Following on from designs such as Fold, Tank and Twin, Uniform chair continues his exploration into the process of manipulating sheet metal. Intelligent, sophisticated folds within the legs and frame define its form.

Plywood seat pads provide comfort and structure and also reference the chair’s inspiration from old wooden classroom chairs.

The new armchair and sofa designed for Established & Sons by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec was presented during this year´s Milan Design Week in the well arranged showroom of the British manufacturer.

After major projects with the Danish textile manufacturer Kvadrat, the brothers once more demonstrate their ability to re-invent the processing of textiles, in particular for upholstered furniture. The upholstery of ’Quilt’, for example, consists of only a single section, which thanks to its geometry and reinforced edges can easily be be fitted over the fibreglass shell on the steel frame.
