‘Roebuck’ chair by Ernest Race reissued by Race Furniture

Originally designed by Ernest Race in 1951, ‘Roebuck’ chair was first created as an inexpensive alternative to the iconic, steel rod ‘Antelope’ chair designed by Race in the same year for the first edition of Festival of Britain. Now, the design, which was in production since its launch till 1968, has been reissued by the UK-based Race Furniture and it was recently presented at London’s Design Junction. (more…)

‘Boet’ stools by Note for Mitab; photo by Mathias Nero

The Stockholm-based design studio Note have recently collaborated with the renowned Swedish furniture manufacturer Mitab on this series of organically-shaped, metal-and-cork stools called ‘Boet’. Inspired by ‘the bird’s nest among the trees’ (‘boet’ meaning ‘nest’ in Swedish), the design is available in two heights and various colourways, and it will be presented at the upcoming London Design Festival 2012 (19 – 23 September) at Design Junction.
