'FOLDED' by Raw Edges for Mutina
At this year’s CERSAIE in Bologna the Italian manfacturer Mutina presented this new series of bathroom tiles by the Isreal design duo Raw Edges. The designer’s idea was to reproduce the effect of folded paper on ceramics – the visual reference is the traditional ceramic patterns which were common in the apartments in Tel Aviv in the Fifties and Sixties. Raw Edges recreate them simply by using “folded” lines.
'Phenomenon' by Tokujin Yoshioka for Mutina
Once more the Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka inspires with his sense for delicate surfaces and structures. Recently at this year’s CERSAIE in Bologna he unveiled ‘Phenomenon’, a new family of three-dimensional structured ceramic tiles he created for the Italian manufacturer Mutina. The collection includes the patterns ‘snow’, ‘honey-comb’ and ‘rain’.

At this year’s Cersaie, the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings the Italian manufacturer Ceramica Flaminia will present the new free standing shower ‘Albero’ (‘tree’) which is characterised by its figurative appearance and some smart details: its ceramic square base can be almost seamlessly integrated into the bathroom’s floor, the shower head can easily be hung-up on a “branch” through a simple ribbon.
