‘Another Ceramic Candlestick’ by Marie Dessuant for Another Country

A young Parisian designer Marie Dessuant has just shared with us these images of her latest collection of simple, circular candlesticks. Developed for the British furniture and home accessory brand Another Country, the series comprises three, differently-sized oak wood and ceramic pieces which can also double as minuscule storage boxes. The candleholders, made of felt, are dedicated to the metropolis that connects Europe and the Middle East. The shapes and colours of the candleholders are inspired by the silhouette of Istanbul and the different shades of light on city facades at dusk and dawn.

'Allas' candelabrum by Andreas Engesvik for Iittala

Oslo-based furniture and industrial designer Andreas Engesvik has collaborated with the world-famous Finnish tableware manufacturer Iittala to create this cast-iron ‘modern take on a traditional candelabrum’. Called ‘Allas’ – Finnish for ‘pool’ – the design is fittingly described by its manufacturer as ‘a pool of light’ – an effect achieved thanks to the six candles, each set at a different height, for which the candelabrum is intended for.
