‘Nods’ by Atelier Oï for Atelier Pfister

Inspired by the form of human body while in comfortable, seated cross-legged position, the multidisciplinary design practice Atelier Oï has recently realised this curious collection of foldable outdoor furniture for the Swiss brand Atelier Pfister. Comprising a chair, a lounge chair as well as three, variously sized table designs, ‘Nods’ has been developed in the weather-resistant solid teak wood. (more…)

'Mon' table lamp by Colin Schaelli for Atelier Pfister

Described by its designer as a ‘pleasant floor lamp that does not scream for exaggerated attention’, this indeed simple, monochrome light has been recently developed by the Swiss designer Colin Schaelli for Atelier Pfister. Composed of two parts; a curved base made of black-coloured metal and a contrasting, egg-shaped, white glass lampshade, ‘Mon’ emanates a soft glow while its helical, half-twisted form resembles the ‘Möbius’ strip’. An interview in the Swiss daily newspaper Tagesanzeiger which was entitled “Chairs are the best wardorbes” drew my attention to Moritz Schmid and his designs. The Zürich based industrial designer described the work on his new furniture he designed for the Swiss manufacturer Pfister. ‘Aris’ is part of the recently launched, new collection which was developed under the curatorship of Alfredo Häberli.
