'Shelf Lamp' by Andreas Engesvik for David Design
The Norwegian designer and guest professor at Stockholm’s Konstfack university Andreas Engesvik has recently realised this pared-down, ‘low tech’ lamp for the Swedish furniture and fashion brand David Design. Composed of only two parts – a small pine base and a lacquered-metal disk – the minuscule ’Shelf Lamp’ was launched earlier this year during Stockholm Design Week. (more…)
'Allas' candelabrum by Andreas Engesvik for Iittala
Oslo-based furniture and industrial designer Andreas Engesvik has collaborated with the world-famous Finnish tableware manufacturer Iittala to create this cast-iron ‘modern take on a traditional candelabrum’. Called ‘Allas’ – Finnish for ‘pool’ – the design is fittingly described by its manufacturer as ‘a pool of light’ – an effect achieved thanks to the six candles, each set at a different height, for which the candelabrum is intended for. 'Light Tray' by Andreas Engesvik and Daniel Rybakken
The gallery Spazio Rossana Orlandi has always been one of my favourite destinations during the Milan Design Week. The selection of mostly limited editions of well-known designers but also undiscovered newcomers displayed in the beautiful old milanese villa has alwas been a highlight. This year, amongst others, the Norwegian designers Andreas Engesvik and Daniel Rybakken will present the result of their newest collaboration. ‘Light Tray’ - compound of a powder coated aluminium tray, hand blown, coloured glass domes and fixed light sources – allows us to compose light using diffusers in various combinations and colours.
'Bubo Bubo' by Andreas Engesvik and StokkeAustad
The Norwegian deisgner Andreas Engesvik, co-founder of his former studio Norway Says, and the Norwegian design duo StokkeAustad realised this charming wooden sculptures on the occasion of an exhibition to Designblok in Prague in 2010. The owls are modeled in polystyrene and so on milled out of solid wood. The large owl is 29 x 23 cm – the smallest is 15 x 11 cm.

This delicate floorlamp is the result of a collaboration between the two Norwegian designers Daniel Rybakken and Andreas Engesvik, co-founder of the recently seperated studio Norway Says. The free standing fully adjustable structure composed of monochromatic glass panels enables the user to compose light using diffusors in various colours.
