'SuperSputnik' stool by Ahmet Sismanoglu for Sisman

Inspired by the unmistakable form of the famous Soviet satellite launched in 1957, ‘SuperSputnik’ is an extremely reduced, three-legged stool designed by a Germany-based engineer, designer and producer Ahmet Sismanoglu for his own company, Sisman. Delicate in its pared-down appearance , the stool weights a mere 2kg but is in fact very sturdy due to the carefully-calculated ‘wire frame that offers a flexible seat top into bending and turning direction but remaining stiff vertically up to 300kg.’ (more…)
