Created for a solo exhibition at Design Miami/Basel 2014, Valentin Löllmann’s ‘Spring/Summer, Fall/Winter’ collections explore the boundaries of materials, texture and form for a series of works that “get as close as possible to authenticity”.
Both ranges consist of contemporary elementary furniture with various dimensions, functions and structures.
“Although diverse in size and set-up, all pieces are characterized by a similar working process.” says Löllmann. “In this collection, the process feeds the pieces with their character, and creates in turn a new dimension, personality to a specific context or setting.”
“With the idea of natural growth in mind, spring/summer rounds off the idea of a season. While fall/winter inspires natural growth in such an instinctive way, spring/summer seeks to construct this natural growth, experimenting with the combination of metals and wood.”
