“The feeling of showering in the open air” was the original vision for Dornbracht’s new shower system, Sensory Sky. Combining technological complexity with minimalist design, the result is a system that makes showering a unique experience that touches all the senses, as they would in nature, with complex scenarios that include rain, fog, light and fragrance.
The central element of Sensory Sky is a wide and flat stainless steel rain panel that has separate shower fields for head sprinkler, body sprinkler and rain curtain, a cold-water fog nozzle and light and fragrance functions. Touch-based digital controls round out the system.
“Inspired by natural phenomena, with Sensory Sky different types of rain, fog, light and fragrances complement one another to create complex choreographies” says Dornbracht. “‘Readjust’ sensitises and sharpens the senses with warm fog and light rain, ‘Release’ is as cleansing and liberating as a summer cloudburst. ‘Rejoice’ protects, envelops and stabilises – with water droplets glistening in the colours of the rainbow.” In addition to the three primary scenarios, each of the elements can be separately programmed.
Special attention was given to to the fragrances used in the choreographies, “fragrances inspired by various weather phenomena and moods of nature”. Produced using natural essential oils, fragrances and balms in co-operation with spa and wellness fragrance specialist Kemitron, the compositions have all been tested by the International Fragrance Association for quality and safety.
