Matthias Jousse of Galerie Jousse Entreprise started collecting Tallon’s works in the 60ies which resulted in an extensive exhibition in 2005, which was prepared with the artist. This year, Galerie Jousse Entreprise shows part of their collection of Roger Tallon’s oeuvre on Design Miami/Basel 2012.
Around 1965, Roger Tallon was asked to design a night-club in Saint-Germain. Occupying an old garage, the place had to evoke a stretch of motorway. Roger Tallon decided to cover the floor, grid-like, with meatl slabs measuring 400 x 400 mm, whence the name Modules 400.
Depending on the number of customers, the roo could be altered, with some of the slabs being replaced by the tables chairs and armchairs, all with legs of the same dimensions.
The Modules 400 pieces were produced Jaques Lacloche and been featured in several films including ‘La Piscine/The Pool’.
