Originally designed in the 1970’s with daughter Anna Maria Niemeyer, celebrated Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer’s seminal work ‘Rio Rocking Chaise’ is being re-edited for the US market by Espasso.
Launched on May 14, 2014 during New York Design Week at Espasso’s Compasso exhibition, the event marks the first time the re-editions will be made available in the USA. “Oscar is widely regarded as one of Brazil’s most influential architects, whose visionary work continues to have a profound impact on modern architecture worldwide.” says Espasso.
Espasso is also showing 20 furniture re-editions designed in the 1960s by acclaimed Brazilian architect Jorge Zalszupin. Etel Interiores in São Paulo is producing both lines of furniture crafting each piece with high-quality finishes and materials.
The Compasso exhibition is on at Espasso in New York until June 3, 2014.
