Radius is a new table by MDF Italia that was launched on imm cologne, which currently takes place in Germany. The thin tabletop with an impressing span of up to 300 cm gives the table a weightless appearance.
The stability of the only 30 mm thick tabletop is given by a composite panel with inner steel frame and a resin honeycomb core coated on both sides with aluminium foil. The panel is clad with a 3 mm thick sheet which is available either in white acrylic resin, or high pressure laminate coated with cement, or lacquered in various colours.
The legs are made of steel tube of diameter 30 mm with structural tie, painted with white epoxy powder in the resin version or various colours of epoxy powder in the lacquer version, with a coating of cement in the cement version.
The version in cement is probably the most interesting variation of Radius: The cement is applied manually on the table top and legs with the same procedure used to finish architectural surfaces.
What’s more, the table is available in 16 sizes and shapes like rectangular and square versions.
