Emmanuel Babled’s vases and lighting objects are a virtual fusion of marble and handblown glass. Merged into sculptural objects, ‘Osmosi’ are limited edition Venini hand-blown glass, from Murano, and Testi Carrara marble vases and light objects that were shown at Plusdesign gallery during Milan Design Week 2013.

The materials are put together in combination with a precision only possible thanks to high-level digital technology. “The natural and random fluidity of the form of the glass has been captured (through a 3D scan) and used to shape the marble too.” says Plusdesign.

“The marble part and the glass part are separate pieces but one is none without the other. They fit perfectly together through gravity alone.”

Each unique piece of glass fits into just one unique piece of marble. “The result is a perfect symbiosis.”
