Lacking backbone? Feeling spineless? Fear not. A product highlight of this year’s Interieur 2012 design biennale in Kortrijk will sort you out: Dutch designer Robert Bronwasser’s exquisitely formed ‘Spine’ storage system for Netherlands-based design manufacturer Cascando.
Visually open, ‘Spine’ consists of two basic components – HPL-surfaced shelves and anodised aluminium legs – which can combined in various permutations, resulting in different heights and, by extension, different object types: room divider, cabinet and table. Moreover, multiple ‘Spines’ can be brought together to create space-defining structures in larger rooms.
