Young French design studio Hekla has just created its first global design project, a new restaurant, ‘O’Petit en ‘K’ in the heart of Bordeaux, France combining graphic design, architecture and design.
“The challenge was to completely rethink Bordeaux ‘street food’” says Hekla. “We embarked on an adventure to propose a restaurant with an industrial style with a New York City-like atmosphere … in the heart of Bordeaux. The project connected all of the strengths of the studio.”
“The project consisted of a full restructuring of the space while adding a complete overhaul of the visual identity. A new start for this brand … The purpose of this operation was to create a strong, charismatic and friendly identity in a small space.”
“The space uses noble and authentic materials. Stone from Bordeaux blends with raw wood and metal. The kitchen is covered with white subway tiles. Raw wood siding offers an opening and gives birth to three tables.
“Space, furniture and visual identity echo each other to create a cohesive and homogeneous ensemble.”
